Where to shop in Alicante
During your trip in Alicante, we are sure that you will want to buy things for your family or for yourself. This list will help you find the best places to spend your money.
1 / International stores
If you are looking for international stores like Inditex (Stradivarius, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, Zara …), Desigual, Guess, Sephora. You can find them in these two streets that are in the center of the city.
|Maissonave Avenue (near the El Corte Inglés)||Alfonso X el Sabio Avenue (near the Mercado Central)
There are also shopping centers, a little further away from the center. However, you can easily reach them with buses and trains.
|Plaza Mar 2 which is located Avenida de Denia. You can go on a walk for 25 minutes from downtown or with bus 02, 23.
Gran Via located on José García Sellés street. You can go with the bus 01, 23, 09, 10.
You can also go to El Corté Inglés in different parts of the city where you can find dresses, shoes, accessories,bath products and food.
2 / Traditional stores
If you want some traditional things, you can find smaller stores on Teatro Street, Castaños Street and Gerona Street. Here, you can buy clothes, shoes and food. If you want handmade stuff, there is a market every Thursday and Saturday in different streets of the city. There is also a market on the Esplanade, which is open every day.
If you want to eat fresh products, you can go to the Mercado Central where you can find meat, fish, vegetables and fruits as well as pastry and tapas restaurants. As a plus, the architecture of the building is worth to see.
If you want to take some gastronomical goods from Spain to your country, maybe as a gift, you can buy nougat, wine and Iberian jambón. You can buy all that in different stores such as Espi (Tomás Torregrosa street, 17), Turrones 1880 (Calle Mayor, 9), Vadevins (Carrer Castaños, 33).
The stores are generally open from Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The central market is open from Monday to Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. while the shopping centers are open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (possibly 10:00 p.m.).
