Where to shop in Madrid

 

During your trip in the capital of Spain, you will probably want to go shopping or buy souvenirs for your family and friends. So for you, we have prepared a list of the stores that you can find in the city.

 

1 / International stores

 

If you like Spanish fashion and stores like Bershka, Zara or other international shops like Pimkie, Fnac you can go in the centre of Madrid on Gran Via, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol.

Fuencarral Street is the main street for modern and special stores in Madrid.

 

 

2 / Luxury Brands

 

If you like the original stores and if you have the budget, you can go in the Chueca neighbourhood and mainly in the Hortaleza Street to find modern and bohemian shops.

 

 

 

In the Salamanca neighbourhood, there are many more expensive stores, for example Gucci and Luis Vuitton. To find these stores you can go on the streets Serrano, Velázquez, Goya and Jorge Juan.

 

 

 

3 / Shopping centre

First, The ABC Serrano centre has 80 stores on 3 floors. This centre is on Calle Serrano, 61. Second is Principe Pio, here there are also 3 floors with many international stores. Finally, the most famous one in all of Spain, El Corte Inglés also has many international stores. These centres are perfect when the weather is too bad or too hot.

4 / Mercado

 

 

In Madrid, there are many markets but the most famous one is the weekly El Rastro market. The market is open on Sunday from 9am to 3pm. Here, you can find clothes, jewellery and shoes.

 

 

 

 

If you want to buy food, you can go to the La Paz market, in the Salamanca neighbourhood where you can find fresh products.

 

 

Finally, the stores in the centre and the shopping centres are open from 10am to 9pm / 10pm. The other stores are open from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8:30 pm / 9pm.
