Bildungskarenz (educational holiday)
"Bildungskarenz" in Spain (for employees in Austria)
In Austria "Bildungskarenz" enables employees to participate in a 2 - 12 month language course with minimum of 20/16 hours per week (16 for legal guardians with children under 7 years old).
At least 1/4 of the course must take place in the school facilities and the rest of the 20/16 hours can be verified as study time by the school if necessary. Several of our courses are therefore suitable for requesting "Bildungskarenz". Also, online courses, for example our Skype lessons, are eligible provided that you have confirmation of registration as well as confirmation of the payment of course fees.

"Bildungsteilzeit" in Spain (for employees in Austria)
This variation consists of a reduction of working hours in order to support further education. However it is mandatory to continue working for at least 10 hours per week. A further reduction of working hours is not possible. The AMS pays a "wage substitute" for the reduced hours.
"Bildungsteilzeit" in Austria enables interested employees the opportunity to take part in a language course with at least 10 hours a week for 4 up to 24 months.
